In this way, what is gyro plastic?
Frisbees manufactured my MVP Disc Sports use what they call “gyro technology.” Rather than just use a single plastic mold like most other disc manufacturers, MVP uses a heavier, more dense plastic on the rim than the plastic used on the flight plate (center of the disc). This supposedly helps these discs fly farther.

I Co-Founded MVP Disc Sports with my Brother Chad Richardson in January 2010. We operated the company in our parents’ barn for the first five years until we built and moved into a new headquarters in 2015.
Why are MVP discs so flat?
The third type is is a flat disc, like a Valkyrie or Inertia, that has a lot of turn and solid fade. The flatness helps it cut through the air and the tension between turn and fade keeps it in the air. For me, I’m throwing a mixture of all three types. A bag full of only flat MVP/Axiom doesn’t work for me.
Are MVP discs good?
The MVP Relay disc is an understable fairway driver that is easy to throw, making it a great disk for beginner disc golfers. It has a 16 mm moderate wing, which makes it slightly slower and easier to control.
Are MVP discs more stable?
For that reason, if you use an MVP disc and a Latitude disc with the same flight numbers, the MVP disc will probably be more overstable. As far as the glide goes, that’s just something you’ll have to deal with. MVP discs just won’t glide as much as that magical european plastic.
Do lightweight discs go farther?
In general, lighter discs fly farther than heavier discs, but heavier discs may fly farther in a headwind due to their greater stability. A safe bet for the average player is to throw discs weighing around 160-165 grams for best distance.
